48 Weeks to 50: Poll-of-Polls Countdown: Lungbarrow

Continuing my 50th Anniversary countdown of aggregated poll results for Doctor Who Books, TV Serials & Audio Dramas, with number 48:

48. Lungbarrow

Doctor: 7 (Sylvester McCoy)
Companions: Chris (but with Ace, K-9 and Leela all playing prominent roles)
Aliens: Timelords, The Druges
Synopsis: Time Lord President Romanadvoratrelundar needs to find the Doctor, but all her attempts have failed. For he has already returned home, but to the long lost house of Lungbarrow. Inside the dark halls, an ancient conspiracy will be unearthed and questions about Gallifrey's (and perhaps the Doctor's) past will finally be answered.
Why is it so well loved?
1. It combines a trapped-in-haunted-house setting with conspiracy theories and a Mervyn Peake style of gothic
2. It's very a strange and complicated book which you can get more understanding from with multiple readings.
3. It answers many questions fans have been posing throughout the shows history, whilst also setting up a whole new paradigm for shows history.
Statistical Snippet
This is the most expensive item in the top 50, with used copies currently going for at least £49.99 on Amazon.
